Machakos county boss Alfred Mutua has promised to name a road in his constituency after comedian Daniel Ndambuki alias Churchill.
The second term governor made the offer when he joined other leaders and Kenyans in celebrating the comedian’s 40th birthday on Friday night at Kenyatta International Convention Centre. He hailed the talented comedian saying that he(Churchill) has changed the lives of many youths since he started his show.
“What you have done for this country is great and I promise to tarmac and name the road that leads to your home after you,” said Mutua, as quoted by Nairobi News.
On his part, Churchill said that he is grateful to see the industry growing over years. He also dismissed claims that the comedy industry is not well paying as some people who have been saying.
“I am happy to see comedy in Kenya become not only a full-fledged career for professionals but also one of the most lucrative careers in the country. It is an achievement I’m proud of,” he said.
Mutua was accompanied by his wife Lilian and friends. The event was also attended by high profile guests from different parts of the nation.
