Speaking during his tour in the area on a vote hunt mission, Mutua said that water has been one of the greatest challenges facing this part of the county, adding that he has good plans for the residents once he retains power come August. 

He spoke during a rally at Makadara shopping centre, Athi River town, on Sunday where he asked residents to re-elect him. 

“My government will provide fresh water to all residents free of charge. Nobody will be charged a penny for the basic necessity,” he said. 

The county boss, who is defending his seat on Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement added: “The problem of water scarcity will be a thing of the past in Mavoko and Entire County by December this year if I’m reelected. Machakos will be like America God willing,” he said. 

The governor has assured his supporters that he will beat his rivals hands down. Mutua is set to lock horns with Former Kathiani MP Wavinya and Deputy Governor Bernard Kiala, an Independent candidate.
