Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior has dared Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leaders to expose corrupt governors before the next general elections.
Through his twitter account, the outspoken senator urged the coalition’s co-principals to name the corrupt governors so that an action can be taken against them as the fights this vice.
The senator, who is close ally to Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, came out to condemn a section of governors misusing funds meant for the common mwananchi.
According to Mutula, the unearthing of corruption in the government of Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi is just a tip of the iceberg thus there is need for the leaders to swing into action before it’s too late.
The leader pointed out that the leaders cannot preach water while they are drinking wine themselves.
“Cord must condemn Governors who are misusing public funds. Kilifi is a tip of the iceberg. We can't preach water and partake wine,” he posted.
Kingi has been in hot soup for the past few days after his county allegedly mismanaged Sh51 million from the Department of Health’s bank account.
This forced the governor to announce the suspension of 10 officials from his government as investigations continue. Mutula’s tweet attracted mixed reactions from different users of this platform.
