Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior has launched a scathing attack against Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua following his remarks over People's Assembly which he posted on his Twitter handle.
The vocal senator reminded Mutua that ignorance is not a defense when it comes to matters of the law. This is after Mutua questioned the launch of the assemblies across the nation.
"Kenya is not a Kangaroo nation, Kenya is a country with law and order and a new Constitution. Therefore, you cannot wake up one morning and go and vote as an MCA to give power back to the people as a People's Assembly and then continue to be in office,” he Mutua.
The sentiments of the second term county boss did not augur well with the Senator, who retweeted:
Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jr retorted: "Ignorance of the law is not an excuse or defense."
Mutua also said that his political outfit Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement wants to be enjoined in the cases against the people’s assembly. The governor has also asked the court to declare seats of Members of the County Assembly who backed the motion vacant.
