Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo on Thursday admitted that the National Super Alliance (NASA) has lost support in some areas for failing to campaign. According to Nation, the vocal senator said that the push for reforms in the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has consumed a lot of time for the opposition which has left Former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga and his Presidential running mate Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka of Wiper is a weaker position than they were before the August general elections.
“Our support is not the same as it was before August 8 because some of our supporters are weary because of the long-drawn-out campaigns,” he said, as quoted by the Local Daily.
The opposition has maintained that it will go to the polls if IEBC meets its irreducible demands. The leaders of the alliance have been calling for the resignation of CEO Ezra Chiloba and other officials thought to have influenced the outcome of the August general exercise.
