A few days after the government revealed that the senator died from excessive bleeding, a pathologist who had the details about the issue and who happened to see the senator’s body has a different story to tell, Nation has reported.
The pathologist, whose identity has not been revealed, argued that there are possibilities that the senator came into contact with poison. On Thursday, Dr S.W. Mwangi said that the deceased failed to wake up from sleep after taking carbonated drinks.
A source close to the family of the deceased revealed that the senator used not to take carbonated drinks or caffeine as suggested by the report. It is also said that none of the pathologists who saw and attended to the deceased’s body was informed about the release of the report.
The fight by the family to find the real cause of the senator’s death has faced a number of challenges after the report was withheld for over three years.
A pathologist, who has spoken on condition of anonymity, said that there are possibilities that the lawmaker died from poison.
“He may have ingested poison because he was bleeding from everywhere,” he told the Sunday Nation, adding that “the only way to be sure was through the toxicology exams”.
