The senator who was speaking during Citizen TV's Power Breakfast show said that the registrar of political parties will allow the members deemed to have crossed ships to go to court, a move he says will make the issue reach the next general elections.

"Don't expect anything to be done by the Registrar of Political Parties, they have done nothing since 2013," Mutula said.

"They will just meddle around the issue and allow the lawyers of all this accused persons to court and get injunctions and it will continue so till general elections," he added.

The legislator insisted that the law was clear on party hopping and that the registrar has the power and capacity to remove the errant members from the political party's list.

"The law is very clear that when a member of a political party is seen to promote the ideals of another political party you are deemed not to be a member of the political party," he said.

"We don't need all this other bodies to deal with the errant members, it is the Registrar of Political Parties that should act on them," he added.
