Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo has found himself in hot soup after Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) blasted him for criticizing Minority Leader Francis Nyenze in regard to his stand over National Super Alliance (NASA) flag bearer.
Speaking during a TV interview, Nyenze had claimed that the Kamba community has nothing to smile about, adding that they have been given a raw deal.
“I want to say that the Kamba nation got a raw deal because there was a Memorandum of Understanding in 2013 that Honourable Kalonzo Musyoka supports Raila Odinga and we did that man-to-man.
In 2017 it was to be Kalonzo Musyoka,” he said. Mutula, however said that Nyenze has no mandate to speak on behalf of the community or Wiper.
The remarks of the senator did not impress Netizens. Here are some of the tweets that showed anger over the criticisms.
@SenMutula Nyenze is enjoying freedom of expression, and representing wishes of many of us...
Dominic: @Domkya @SenMutula That is true, @skmusyoka is not a Kamba chief entirely. Nyenze is not representing my opinion
Juliet Mwikali: @SenMutula But he represented the Kamba in NASA negotiations. He is, therefore, a key person in Kamba community.
Japheth Ngonde: @SenMutula With all due respect Sir. I believe he is the Kamba leader and has used the 'Kamba' vote as his bargaining chip.
