Makueni County Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior has written a complaint letter to DCI Director Ndegwa Muhoro, calling for immediate investigation of National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale over hate speech remarks.
In a Facebook post on his page, Kilonzo termed the act as a factor undermining peace and national cohesion, and needs to be dealt with accordingly.
"Hon. Aden Duale MP for Garissa and the Leader of the Majority in the National Assembly has been covered widely in the media as having said that Kamba's should not be allowed to vote in Garissa. I have written a complaint letter to DCI Ndegwa Muhoro on the same,” he said.
“In the widely circulated audio recording, he says he is ready to fund youth in the area to block ‘foreigners’ from registering and voting in Garissa,” he added.
“This alleged utterance does nothing to promote peace and national cohesion. Action must be taken on him and any other person who threatens order in the country," he further wrote.
The matter has elicited reactions across the country, with many leaders across the political divide condemning the act and calling for investigation and his arrest.
