Former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga has joined National Super Alliance (NASA) Leader Raila Amolo Odinga in condemning politicians who have been attacking the Supreme Court following the nullification of the presidential elections.

According to Mutunga, it is evident that Kenyan politicians only see that Justice has been done when the court rules in their favor which is not necessarily the case.

“Justice, according to factions, is only done when the apex court decides in their favour," Mutunga wrote, as quoted by Star.

The former CJ also revealed that politicians in this nation are not ready to accept the outcome of the court, adding that attacks have made Kenyans lose confidence in the court system.

"Since someone has to lose, the losing party does not spare the court and in turn, aggravates the already shaky public confidence for the apex court," he said.

The remarks of Mutunga come a day after a Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu moved to court seeking to remove Chief Justice Maraga David from office following the nullification of the presidential election.

The move of the lawmaker has attracted mixed reactions from different factions with NASA leaders accusing Jubilee of frustrating the courts.
