Retired Chief Justice Willy Mutunga and his deputy Kalpana Rawal will now earn more than Sh1 million in monthly retirement perks.
This is after signed the retirement benefits bill into law.
The two joins the clubs of retired presidents Daniel Moi and Mwai Kibaki who take home millions in retirement perks.
Under the Retirement Benefits Amendment Bill, 2016 Dr Mutunga’s golden retirement perk is accompanied by a monthly pension equivalent of 80 per cent of his last salary.
It caters for security, medical insurance and a diplomatic passport for himself and spouse.
Mutunga l is also entitled to a saloon car and a four-wheel drive vehicle,with drivers and fuel.
In the law, the vehicles will be replaced after every four years.
