This is after little known Mwirigi defied his poor financial background and stiff competition to clinch the seat as an Independent candidate during the August general elections.

Muturi said Mwirigi has risen to the limelight at a tender age,  which is commendable.

“He is a young man but he has achieved so much within a very short period. This is a story to tell. I feel so proud of him,” he said, as quoted by Nation.

Muturi’s sentiments were backed by Budalang’i MP-elect Raphael Wanjala who said he was humbled to work with a young and committed leader like Mwirigi.

“It’s an incredible achievement he has made. I am just so happy for him,” Mr Wanjala said.

Mwirigi hit the headlines when he arrived at Parliament in a public service vehicle during the briefing of first time Members of Parliament.

He was later driven to State house by Tharaka MP George Murugara

The lawmaker dreamed of becoming a powerful politician while still in high school before he had a breakthrough.

Today, Mwirigi has inspired many youths to enter the political arena.
