The nominees by President Uhuru Kenyatta are expected to be vetted before formal appointments.

National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale says the Head of State will send the names of the nominees to Speaker Justin Muturi who will then immediately kick start the vetting process.

“Once the Speaker receives the message from the presidency tomorrow he will forward the nominees to the Committee of Appointments and that of the Ambassador to the Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations for vetting.”

“It should take 14 days; seven days for people to write the views on these nominees on integrity and everything and then the next seven days we will start the process of vetting and report writing and then we will recall the House to approve or reject,” Duale said.

Duale added that President Kenyatta is also expected to name the final list of nominees who will form his Cabinet this week.

“The President is going to form a Cabinet that is all inclusive with the face of Kenya, with all religions and all ethnic communities, people should wait,” said the House Majority Leader.
