The National Authority for the Campaign Against Drug Abuse (NACADA) chairman John Mututho has told Inspector General of police Joseph Boinett that he won't name any senior police officers he said are protecting drug cartels at the University of Nairobi.
The tough-talking Mututho told Citizen TV Friday that he would record statements as directed by Boinnet but would not divulge any information regarding the identity of the officers he had alluded to.
"I will record my statement yes but I will not give out any names. That is his (Boinnet)to investigate and find out.He is on a payroll to do investigations," Mututho said.
At the same time, he also warned Student Organisation of Nairobi University (SONU) leader Babu Owino over drug dealing.
"I heard one of the student leaders saying he now wants to become an MP and later president. However let me tell him that he will have to deal with Mututho first, and I am not a pushover. I'm not a comedian. You cannot deal in drugs and we see you face to face.Someone will have to cry.You cannot have chapati with Bangi or Hashish with tea," Mututho said.
The former Naivasha MP was reacting to a summon to have him record statements over his recent utterances that some senior police officers were protecting drug cartels running the show in Kenya's premier university.
