Nakuru governor aspirant John Mututho has called on the Kalenjin community to give him a female running mate ahead of 2017 elections.
The former Naivasha MP wants the Kalenjin to field 12 female candidates for vetting, saying the best would be picked as his running mate while the other top five will get executive jobs in his government.
“I want a graduate running mate aged between 21-35 years, from the Kalenjin community. The elders should select the 12,” said Muthutho.
Mututho hails from the Kikuyu community which is the majority ethnic group and will be keen to pick a running mate from the Kalenjin community which is second largest ethnic group in Nakuru County.
Other candidates on the race to unseat Governor Kinuthia Mbugua are former NTSA chairman Leakey kinyanjui and Senator James Mungai.
