Mututho said that lack of powers to apprehend and prosecute drug barons is making his work hard.

Speaking at Naivasha town Sunday, Mututho said that  parliament should amend the law to give NACADA powers to arrest and prosecute what he termed as ‘known drug barons’.

“We know who the drug peddlers are in this country but anytime we provide police with information about them, nothing is done. That is why we want parliament to allow NACADA to arrest and prosecute these people because we know them and their accomplices,” said Mututho.

He added “If only I had the powers as we speak I would have send all the drug barons behind bars. The problem we have as NACADA is that the barons are not being arrested.”

Mututho said that if nothing is done Kenya will be like south American nations where drug peddling is a normal business.
