Former Nacada chairman John Mututho has called on investigative agencies to speed up investigations into the circumstances that led to death of one of his employees at the Lake Nakuru Flamingo Lodges.

28-year-old Ben Kuria Warui is said to have drowned while swimming at the Lodge's pool.

Kuria, who was a counselor at John Mututho empowerment centre (JOMEC) at pipeline Nakuru , reportedly drowned after a gym session at the hotel.

A postmortem on Tuesday revealed that the deceased had injuries on the back, with the county pathologist indicating there could be a probability that he died due to the injuries.

Addressing media at the Umash Funeral home on Tuesday where the family of the deceased had gathered, Mututho claimed the death was a result of murder.

“It is time now we upgrade our CID to the likes of FBI because so many people are dying but the investigations done are shallow. Not until we respect life in its entirely then shall we continue losing our loved ones,” Mututho said.

“I will not stop at anything in knowing what was the motive in killing Ben,” he added.

The family of the deceased led by the father Warui Nyamu blamed the police as well as the Lake Nakuru Flamingo Lodges in the manner in which they were handled as they sought information on the same.

“We are very sorry with what happened. However we are satisfied with the postmortem which revealed that Ben was either hit with a heavy object on the back ... So this was murder and though satisfied with the report but not happy with the hotel and the way they handled us,” said the father.
