Mututho, who is eyeing Nakuru governor's seat, said the Kikuyus have confidence in Ruto and will undoubtedly vote for him to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“Kikuyu community will stand with Ruto (in 2022). He is a good leader and has gone against all odds of life to reach where he is. His presidential aspiration is unstoppable," he said.

The former Naivasha MP, who was speaking in Kuresoi South constituency, said he had no doubt that the DP will take over the top seat after Uhuru serves his second term.

He asked Kalenjins in the Rift Valley to stop fighting Ruto but instead support him in his political aspirations.

“It is sad that some of you are fighting your own son who has backing from all corners of the country. You should change because you are painting a bad picture,” said Mututho.
