Former NACADA boss John Mututho has dismissed plans by the opposition to legalise chang’aa in future.

This is after NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga said that he will make consumption of chang'aa legal once he assumes the presidency.

Mututho has now termed  Raila's statement reckless.

The Nakuru gubernatorial aspirant said that the country was suffering from the effects of alcoholism.

He said there are more than six million addicts, many of them students at universities and tertiary institutions.

“It’s saddening that honourable Raila Odinga has promised to legalise chang’aa which has killed hundreds of our youths."

In an address to the press in Naivasha, Mututho said that for the last one year his rehabilitation centre had treated over 600 addicts.
