Mungano Trust of Kenya Nakuru region branch will next month resettle twenty families drawn from the Internally Displaced Persons in Pipeline area.
According to the Muungano Wa Wanavijiji Nakuru Region coordinator, James Mwangi, the trust has acquired five acres of land, worth Sh5 million, which will be used to construct modern houses and community services amenities.
Muungano Trust brings together community based welfare groups in collective savings and membership.
Speaking while addressing members of Pipeline IDP’s Women Welfare Group who are members of Muungano Wa Wana Vijiji at the IDP camp on Tuesday Mwangi congratulated the group for their efforts.
Pipeline IDP’s Women Welfare Group joined Muungano barely two years ago and they will soon be earning benefits of being members.
He encouraged other members in the camp to form small savings groups and join the larger organisation for them to realise their resetlement dreams collectively.
“As you can see this group joined us only two years ago. They have been saving with Muungano and now they will get dividends. Our mission is to better lives of the marginalised,” said Mwangi.
He added that they are currently encouraging community based savings groups to join hand with their organisations.
