County government's Department of Health from Mvita Sub-county health facilities met to plan for the election exercise of Health Facility Management Committees (HFMC) slated for Wednesday and Thursday next week.
The County government, currently manages eight facilities in Mvita which include Kaderbhoy, Mvita Clinic, Kingorani, Statehouse, Majengo, Railways, Ganjoni and Tononoka AP dispensaries.
Through Patrick Chanzere, the Mvita Sub-county Public Health nurse, participants of the meeting were enlightened on the general membership of the committees, the selection criteria that will be used on them and procedures of HFMC elections.
Led by Sub-county Administration and Mvita Assistant County Commissioner Ahmed Hussein, they also discussed ideas on how they will ensure the elections run smoothly to achieve its intended objectives and with maximum participation from the community.
The committees help in general management of health facilities as well as provide oversight of their functions.
