Mvita member of Parliament Abdulswamad Sharrif has accused the Jubilee administration of dividing the country along tribal lines.
Abdulswamad claimed the current trend where leaders were being asked to form tribal political parties to merge with the yet to be launched Jubilee Alliance Party was a time bomb in the nation, and could hurt peace.
"We should be thinking of ways of uniting the whole country irrespective of our tribes but creating tribal political parties is a disastrous approach to the election considering the hate speech from leaders flying left right and centre," added the legislature.
Abdulswamad termed the move as a dangerous trend that could take back the country to the dark days especially now that the country is readying for a general election next year.
He spoke Friday at the Totonoka hall during a crisis meeting to resolve land problems in the area.
This comes at time when several leaders are believed to be pushing for tribal parties and to be kingpins so as to bargain for political stake in the next government.
