Mombasa County Executive for Environment Dr. Godffrey Nato together with Mvita MP Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir, joined forces to conduct a clean up exercise at Mji wa Kale in Old Town.
Also present were area MCA Amur Murfat, Assistant county commissioner, area chief and Old Town ward Administrator Omar Said Jumaan.
The exercise brought together residents who also formed a community project where locals were sensitized on taking responsibility of their sorrounding.
The CeC expressed his gratitude and appreciated the efforts put by Mji Wa Kale Community in making the clean up a success.
"The department will emulate the exercise as a model to other areas in the county," he said on Saturday.
He promised that the department will work closely with community clean up groups to ensure a cleaner and healthier environment for all.
