Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir on Monday led anti-IEBC demonstrations in Mombasa, calling for reforms at the electoral agency.

In an address to the media, the lawmaker noted that NASA could boycott the forthcoming repeat polls, should IEBC fail to heed to their demands.

"Fresh election must conform with the Constitution and the rule of law, as ordered by the Supreme Court," he remarked.

"All suppliers must be cleared of acts of commission or omission in the illegalities and irregularities that led to annulment of 8/8 Presidential poll," he added.

The Opposition outfit has in the recent past called for surgical reforms within IEBC, including the removal of the commission's CEO Ezra Chiloba from office.

In their demands, NASA asserts that Chiloba was largely responsible for bungling the August 8 polls that were contested at the Supreme Court.

"IEBC officers under investigation MUST step aside; through suspension, voluntary resignation or retirement," Nassir said during the demonstrations.
