Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir has pledged a major infrastructural development support for the Mombasa Technical Training Institute (MTTI).
Speaking on Tuesday shortly after a consultative meeting with the MTTI board to discuss nomination of a governing council following its recent upgrade to a polytechnic, the legislator said he would partner with the institution in setting up a radio station, which he says will go a long way in educating and informing the locals.
"I toured the institution and we discussed with the management several probable partnership areas including putting up an FM station in the institution to be run by the journalism department, which will not only benefit the students, in terms of industrial exposure, but also for the constituency to have a community radio," he said.
"The second area of partnership is the construction of a hostel by the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and the income from the investment will go into a rotating fund as bursaries for Mvita students in the Polytechnic," he added.
