Speaking shortly after the High Court in Mombasa upheld his August 8 election victory, Ali urged Nassir to avoid Governor Joho and his brother Abu Joho, arguing that the two are only using him to propagate their selfish interests.

“Don’t walk with these selfish people, they will only use you and dump you,” said Ali on Friday.

The outspoken MP claimed that the brothers are only interested in leaders who will rubberstamp their illegal businesses.

He accused the ODM Governor of destroying Mombasa by running the county as his personal property.

“They have destroyed Mombasa by turning it into their family business. They walk around purporting to be the bosses and we have to ask them for permission before doing anything,” said Ali.

The legislator said no amount of intimation from the duo will stop him from fighting for the rights of the people of Mombasa.

“Abu Joho you have been behaving like a small god, pushing me to the wall. You have forgotten that I’m Mohamed Ali and I only worship God, not man,” said Ali.

“As long as Mohammed Ali is the MP for Nyali, justice will be served,” he added.

Ali further dismissed Joho’s 2022 presidential bid, arguing that the county boss is not qualified for the job.

“Joho is going round the country saying that he is planning to ascend to the presidency. I want to tell him that being president is not similar to being a chief,” said Ali.

“Even if you wore a dress you would not be elected as the women representative in Mombasa,” he added.
