[Photo/Abdulswamad Sharrif Nassir]Mvita MP Abdulswamad Sharrif Nassir held an urgent consultative meeting with Mvita public secondary school heads on Thursday regarding the 2018 enrollment into secondary schools.Among the deliberations agreed on is that the school heads should oversee the full implementation of free secondary school education. "Enrollment should be totally free and remain free even after the enrollment process. As a Member of Parliament, we passed supplementary budget to ensure the realization of the free secondary school programme," said the MP.He further urged parents whose children were called for admission to various schools in form one, to take them for admission."I therefore urge all parents whose children have received admission into respective secondary schools to turn up to those schools and admit them accordingly."The meeting follows fact finding tour of the coast region by Ag Education Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i on Wednesday, following low Form One admission.The CS launched 'Operation Tupeleke Watoto Shule' saying it would help ensure parents and guardians take their children to schools.
