Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya has reiterated the need to educate children since the future of the county and country largely depends on them.

Mvurya made the remarks even as his deputy joined him as they issued cheques worth Sh3.8 million to the students from Samburu ward. 

"We’ll continue to disburse these bursaries to all the wards to ensure we achieve our vision ‘Elimu Ni Sasa’," he said.

As a government, Mvurya said they had also completed the construction of a theatre at Samburu hospital and were in the process of equipping it. 

"We’re also putting up a slaughterhouse in Samburu this financial year," he said on Saturday.

"I want to underscore our commitment in working for the people of Kwale and we’ll endeavor to do so," he said.
