Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya on Thursday issued bursary cheques worth Sh5.7 million to students from Puma Ward at Vigurungani.
Flanked by his Deputy Fatuma Achani and area MCA, Mvurya issued a directive to the County Department of Education to give Sh12,000 bursaries to students joining local technical institutions.
"We are committed to spur levels of education in all levels," he said.
The governor further urged parents whose children did not attain marks to join universities or colleges, to encourage them to enrol in technical institutions which.
He said his administration had revamped and equipped the institutions in order to acquire important skills for the prosperity of learners.
