Jubilee party has settled on Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya as the next Council of Governor chiar.
The resolution was arrived at on Tuesday when president Uhuru Kenyatta met all governors elected on a Jubilee ticket.
Mvurya won the seat on a Jubilee ticket after defecting from ODM.
According to President Kenyatta CoG is supposed to play an important role in managing the affairs of devolution.
He said it was regrettable that the last five years were marked by confusion, which was mostly created by those who served as chairs of the CoG.
“We have been elected on a shared platform. Let us work together for the betterment of our people,” said the President when he met the governors at State House, Nairobi.
Turkana Governor Jospaht Nanok, who is the current chair is expected to defend his seat.
Nanok was re-elected on an ODM ticket.
