Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya has downplayed allegations that he is behind the disruption of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) rallies in Kinango and Lunga Lunga on Thursday.Mvurya said he did not command the police to disrupt the rally, adding that the opposition leaders are free to seek for the truth from the security agencies in the two areas.“I was not involved in any way. Security agents can answer your questions very well,” said Mvurya, as quoted by Baraka FM.This comes after a section of leaders from the opposition accused the governor of being responsible for the cancellation of the rallies. Joho condemned the disruption of opposition rallies, terming the action as barbaric and unacceptable.“We are really surprised that even with a change of constitution such occurrences are still happening. We went to Kwale peacefully as we had promised and we had planned the event for a long time. But when people are disrupted for no reason it is not encouraging at all,” said Joho. The outspoken governor has insisted that he will continue holding rallies across the Coast counties as he drums up support for ODM leader Raila Odinga to take over power in August.
