Jubilee’s Mombasa gubernatorial candidate Suleiman Shabal’s running mate Anaiah Mwaboza was on Thursday roughed up by women in Likoni after he failed to give them money.
The incident occurred after Mwaboza finished addressing a political rally at Mweza grounds in Likoni, where the women approached him demanding the allowance he had promised to give them. The women shouted at him saying Likoni was an ODM zone and Jubilee was only wasting time by organising political rallies in the area.“He called us here to attend his political rally and drum support for Jubilee but he has nothing to give us. How will we travel back to our homes, he is losing the battle to Hassan Joho,” said Ummu Mohammed, a political activist from Shika Adabu area in Likoni. However, Mwaboza, declined to comment on the incident, terming it political intrigues which were best solved by politicians.During the rally, Mwaboza drummed up support for Shahbal, saying he is the best candidate to move the county forward in terms of development. He said Shahbal will advocate for women, youth and persons living with disabilities’ rights by ensuring they get a chance to venture into business and improve their living standards.
