Anania Mwaboza’s supporters have accused Jubilee Mombasa gubernatorial aspirant Suleiman Shahbal of sidelining them.

Mwaboza’s allies argued that Jubilee’s efforts to penetrate Mombasa, which is considered an opposition stronghold, will not bear fruits if Shabhal fails to recognise them. The supporters on Thursday summoned Mwaboza, who is Shahbal’s running mate, for an urgent meeting to address the issue, The Star reports.“Our team has not been recognised after all we fought for. What are you doing there if you cannot protect us?” Ali Mwatsahu asked Mwaboza. They said Shabhal’s side had been given all the top posts in the party despite agreeing to share power equally with Mwaboza’s team.On her part, Zena Salim, said they had no choice but to form a group allied to Mwaboza after Shabhal failed to recognise them.Mwaboza assured his allies that their concerns will be taken into account.“I have heard your concerns. We are one team now. Rest assured I am looking after your interests, just as we are both looking after the interests of all Mombasa residents,” said Mwaboza, as quoted by the daily.
