Likoni MP Masoud Mwahima has exuded confidence he will retain his seat in the August 8 elections.

Speaking to journalists on Friday, the rebel ODM MP dismissed Mombasa Women Representative Mishi Mboko’s bid to unseat him, saying he has no competition to worry about.Mwahima argued that Mboko has no numbers to beat him, adding that his development agenda for Likoni people is noticeable.Mwahima accused Mboko of not having a development agenda, claiming that she has failed in her duties as Mombasa Women Rep and is thus not fit to be next Likoni MP.“Mishi Mboko is a failure who has failed to advocate for the interests of women and marginalized groups as Mombasa Women Rep,” said Mwahima, as quoted by the Nation.He accused Mboko of focusing on national politics at the expense of delivering services to residents.“We have been seeing her campaign for Raila and NASA for the last four years while Mombasa women and youth languish in poverty,” he said.Mwahima, who is seeking another term on a Jubilee Party ticket pledged to push for laws that will better the lives of residents.Mboko will vie for the seat on an ODM ticket and has promised to bring the change residents are yearning for.She said she is not afraid of facing off with Mwahima, arguing that she has the numbers to win the parliamentary seat.
