Former Kenyan ambassador to Tanzania Chirau Ali Mwakwere has blasted the Jubilee party claiming he was mistreated.
In an interview with NTV on Monday, the former Matuga lawmaker recounted how the United Republican Party (URP) wing of the former Jubilee Alliance abandoned him despite being the party's deputy leader."URP abandoned me shortly after I lost my Kwale senatorial bid.They cut all the links with me and would not pick up my calls.That is despite the fact that I was the deputy party leader.Jubilee was a misadventure," he said.He added that his appointment as an ambassador after lamentations from a women lobby group from Kwale who asked President Kenyatta to consider him."Shortly after my appointment as an ambassador president Kenyatta later read out a list of the most corrupt people in Kenya and imagine I was there.The president had a hand in my name being there.He was trying to blackmail me over my firm position on matters corruption," he said.The former cabinet minister however reiterated his committment to the opposition coalition Nasa saying he felt safer there.
