Chirau Mwakwere, who recently resigned as Kenya's ambassador to Tanzania to join politics, has said Jubilee Party does not stand a chance in Kwale.
Speaking on Sunday when he was received by ODM supporters at the Lunga Lunga border, the Kwale gubernatorial aspirant said; “Jubilee will not capture even a single post in Kwale.”
He vowed to conduct a vigorous campaign to ensure he unseats the incumbent, Governor Salim Mvurya in the August 8, polls.
"I will hit the ground running for the next five months to capture the governor seat,” said Mwakwere as quoted by the Star. This comes after Mvurya ditched the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) for Jubilee, citing a plot to deny him the Orange party ticket.Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho on Saturday urged ODM leaders in Kwale to unite ahead of the general election to ensure defectors are not re-elected in the forthcoming elections.“Work together and ensure Lunga Lunga constituency seat and that of the governor are taken back to ODM,” said Joho as quoted by the daily.
