A section of Kamba elders and Mau Mau veterans in Mwala Sub-County in Machakos County have threatened to curse Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama for supporting Raila Odinga's planned swearing-in.
The elders led by Johnstone Kiiti claimed that Kalonzo and Muthama are misleading the Kamba community.
Speaking to journalists in Mwala Town on Wednesday, Mr Kiiti said that the Kamba community is against the Raila-Kalonzo illegal swearing-in, adding that locals are allegedly being forced to support it.
"We are telling Kalonzo and Muthama to withdraw their support for NASA's illegal swearing or be ready to face the consequences," Mr Kiiti, the Mwala elders spokesperson said.
The elders observed that NASA is disrespecting the constitution by pushing for an activity that is not backed by law.
The elders said that the country is staring at possible violence if Raila and Kalonzo are not stopped from taking the oath.
The elders urged Kenyans to stand with President Uhuru Kenyatta's government and shun the opposition.
Muthama is among NASA politicians pushing for Raila's swearing-in set for January 30.
On Wednesday, the former senator said that their plan to swear in Raila is unstoppable.
NASA has maintained that it will swear in Raila and Kalonzo as the people's president and deputy respectively on January 30 even as the government maintains that the planned activity is illegal and highly treasonous.
