MCAs from Mwala in Machakos County have applauded Governor Alfred Mutua for launching an education scholarship program to support needy students from the county.
Makutano MCA Brian Kisila said the initiative was helpful since it will offer vulnerable children from humble backgrounds successfully undertake their studies without interruptions.
Kisila said close to 50 students of students from Mwala Sub County benefited from the program that was launched by Mutua at Athi River Youth Polytechnic in Mavoko, Machakos County on Monday.
"It's good the governor is fulfilling his promise, I hope more students will benefit as time goes by," Kisila said.
His sentiments were echoed by Kibauni MCA Annastacia Mutuku who observed said the governor's announcement on free ECD in the county will enable more children to be enrolled in school.
One of the students' beneficiaries Sylvester Mutinda from Embondo area who received Sh10,000 bursary could not hide his happiness and urged students who didn't apply to apply next time in order to benefit.
