Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka has defended Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka against increasing criticism for failing to attend the controversial Raila Odinga’s Tuesday swearing in at Uhuru Park.

Musyoka said that Kalonzo wasbeing wrongly crucified and condemned by NASA politicians and supporters.

The Maendeleo Chap Chap MP said the Wiper Party leader  had concrete reasons to why he skipped the inauguration.

Musyoka said Kalonzo should be given time to explain why he failed to attend the event.

“I think NASA politicians are not being fair to Kalonzo Musyoka and others who skipped Raila Odinga’s illegal Tuesday swearing in,” he said on Thursday at Parliament Buildings in Nairobi.

Musyoka said the continued criticism being thrown out at Kalonzo was a clear indication that he was not valued and respected within the NASA political circles.

The Mwala legislator lauded Kalonzo for skipping the event noting that he saved himself from embarrassment and legal consequences.

“As Much as they are condemning him (Kalonzo) for skipping the event, I think he made the right decision not to attend,” Musyoka said.

The MP said that Raila’s swearing in was a joke and embarrassment to the principles of democracy.

Musyoka asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to take stern action against people who planned and administered the illegal oath.

“The law is very clear and the government should apply it without favoring anyone who took part in the illegal oath,” he added.

Kalonzo continues to receive criticism after he snubbed the Tuesday coronation at Uhuru Park.

A section of NASA supporters and politicians have termed Kalonzo, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula as traitors who cannot be trusted and depended on.

The Wiper leader has however defended himself, stating that his absence at Raila’s Tuesday fete was unavoidable and that he is ready to take oath anytime.

The government has launched a crackdown on opposition politicians who administered the oath on Tuesday.
