Mwala MP Engineer Vincent Musyoka has come out to strongly defend Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua against criticism's of neglecting his duties and focusing on 2022 campaign's.
Musyoka says that critics attacking Governor Mutua are playing dirty politics.
Speaking to journalists in Mwala Town on Sunday, Musyoka said that Mutua has not neglected his duties as it is being claimed.
He defended governor Mutua's recent four day tour to Nyeri, saying that it part of his work.
"The governor has to see what his colleagues are doing and implement the same for the benefit of Machakos people," he said.
Musyoka said that governor Mutua is among the best performing county bosses, adding that he has the interests of the Machakos people at heart.
The Maendeleo Chap Chap MP also said that Mutua is right to start lobbying for 2022.
He said that the governor just like any politician has to strategize, saying that claims of him engaging in pre-mature 2022 campaigns are baseless.
Mutua has been under criticism from a section of Machakos politicians who are accusing him of campaigning for 2022 at the expense of development.
The politician's are also alleging that the governor could be using county funds to campaign and lobby for 2022.
Governor Mutua has also denied claims of abandoning his mandate, saying he is committed to serve Machakos people.
