Police in Mwala sub-county are hunting for one man who is suspected to be slaughtering donkeys and selling their meat in Vyulya area.
According to Vyulya location chief Francis Musembi, is that him together with nyumba kumi members and community policing raided the man's home on Saturday after a tip off from the residents where they found six heads, intestines and fresh blood of donkeys scattered in the house.
"I was notified by members of the public that there was a vehicle suspected to be carrying the meat from the man's house where I took action and raided his home accompanied by Nyumbakumi members and community policing," said Musembi.
The man who is on the run is said to be a notorious donkey butcher as he has a case in Wamunyu law courts where he was arrested last month with donkey meat and released on a Sh 250,00 cashbond.
The chief urged residents to co operate with the police and give information that would lead to the arrest of the man so as to be brought to book. He also urged butchery owners to be vigilant while buying meat from vendors.
