Former Limuru MP Peter Mwathi has appealed to Kiambu county locals to re-elect governor William Kabogo for a second term in the August 8 polls.
Mwathi says that Kabogo remains the best-suited candidate for the Kiambu gubernatorial seat.
The former MP while backing Kabogo’s re-election lauded the governor’s development agenda which he said is visible.
Speaking in Limuru town on Tuesday, Mwathi said that Kabogo’s development agenda speaks for itself.
“Governor Kabogo understands better the issues facing Kiambu and I know with a second term he will be able to tackle them out,” he said.
Mwathi cautioned locals against being duped into supporting politicians he claimed to have no clear development agenda for the county.
He said that Kiambu needs visionary leaders who will propel its development agenda forward.
Mwathi who is seeking to unseat Limuru MP John Kiragu also cautioned locals against being swayed by violence and propaganda.
He claimed that some political aspirants are spreading propaganda with aim of gaining political mileage ahead of the August polls.
Governor Kabogo is seeking re-election for a second term. He faces stiff competition from Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu, real estate tycoon David Gakuyo, Agriculture consultant James Nyoro and Ruiru based business woman Njoki Gathendu.
