Nominated senator Isaac Mwaura has urged the opposition Nasa to stop reading mischief and anger over their plans to amend certain sections of the constitution.

Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV on Tuesday, the former nominated MP said some of the world's best constitutions were drafted during times of war and crises, a situation he said the country kindly finds itself in.

"Why should Nasa whine when we say we want to amend the constitution? If anything some of the best constitutions in the world were drafted during wars and hardships. That's where we are currently as a country", he said.

He added that the National Accord of 2008 was created following a conflict and so there shouldn't be any panic at the moment if they (Jubilee) also ammend contentious clauses since the Supreme Court has precipitated a crisis in the country.

Among the proposed amendments that the ruling party wants in place include a drastic reduction of the influence of the Iebc chairman and that of the Supreme court ahead of the repeat presidential polls set for October 26.
