According to some of the residents interviewed, they said that the act was not acceptable and there was need to give the president his due respect that he deserves when addressing the nation and more so while in the parliament buildings.

“If they were not happy with the his address they would just become wise and stop going to the parliament building to whistle and make unnecessary noise,” added Edwin Osiemo, a resident at Mwembe.

Another resident identified as Grace Ondabu said that the members of parliament showed lack of respect and there was need for them to ensure that they learn to lead as an example.

This come barely hours after the President Uhuru Kenyatta's state of the nation stopped for a while after it was interrupted by some loud whistles from some members of parliament drawn from the opposition, and the situation was calmed down by the National Assembly Speaker.

National assembly speaker Justine Muturi was forced to send out a section of members of parliament including Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi, ODM national chairman John Mbadi, Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang and finally Homa Bay woman representative Gladys Wanga.
