Gender-based violence victim Mwende who lost both her hands last year after allegedly being attacked by her husband has another reason to smile after Merck organization handed over to her a brand new house and a new business which will help sustain her.
The handing over ceremony was held at her Masii home and was attended by Machakos women representative Dr Susan Musyoka and representatives of the Merck organization.
Speaking at the event Dr Susan Musyoka said," The world is celebrating you today for your constant fight against gender-based violence. We are extremely happy for you for ensuring that Mwende, whose hands were chopped off sometimes last year gets a decent house and some economic empowerment. You are the ideal example of a true leader."
