Residents of Mwihoko area in Kiambu are lamenting over the poor state of roads in the area and have issued threats of holding demonstrations if their MP will not fix the roads.
Speaking on Tuesday outside area MP Esther Gathogo, angry residents expressed their dissatisfaction with the issue claiming that area leaders have given it a blind eye.
According to residents, the Kiambu County Government and the area MP have refused to fix the poor roads which have become a menace.
"We are tired of empty promises, the deputy president promised us two years ago that the Githurai-Mwihoko road will be constructed but they ended up doing half of what was said," Ben King'aru, a resident said.
"We want to plant bananas on this road," another resident said.
"Hon Gathogo has lied to us severally and we are tired," he added.
The demonstrations came two days after Gathogo toured the area and promised that she will ensure the construction of the road kicks off as soon as possible.
The MP however blamed the heavy rains as the reason why the construction has not started.
"Construction can't kick off with such a bad weather we are waiting for the rains to stop and everything will be okay," the MP said.
