Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mulyungi has renewed his political rivalry with the Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu.
In his latest attack against Ngilu, Mulyungi accuses Ngilu of allegedly intimidating and harassing hawkers.
Mulyungi claims that Ngilu is using county askaris to harass hawkers who are doing their genuine businesses.
Speaking in Kitui Town on Monday, the Wiper MP claimed that governor Ngilu has been sending askaris to intimidate hawkers in his constituency.
Mulyungi also accuses Ngilu of sidelining and discriminating against his constituency in the 'Ndengu' and other projects in the county.
The MP claims that the NARC governor has failed to provide the market for 'Ndengu' farmers in his constituency.
“Governor Ngilu should trade carefully and know that she was elected to serve Kitui people without discrimination,” Mulyungi said.
Mulyungi said Ngilu is openly discriminating against some regions that did not back her governorship in the 2017 general election.
The Wiper MP asked the Kitui governor to change on how she operates the government and serve the people.
“Kitui people are getting tired with her (Ngilu) behavior and she should watch out,” he said.
Governor Ngilu has however dissed the MP's claims terming them baseless.
Mulyungi and Ngilu have often confronted each other sometimes taking the intervention of Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka to calm them.
The two politicians are not seeing eye to eye with Mulyungi expressing interest to unseat Ngilu in the 2022 general election.
