Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna has advised Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka to start lobbying for support towards his 2022 presidential bid.
Nguna said Kalonzo should start marketing his bid as 2022 succession debate takes shape.
Speaking in Mwingi town on Monday, the Wiper MP said it is not too early for Kalonzo to start lobbying for support.
He said time is running out quickly and that anyone hoping to contest for the presidency should start laying ground now.
“Kalonzo should go out and seek partnership with other like-minded politician's as he prepares for the 2022 top seat,” Nguna said.
Nguna said Kalonzo remains the hope for Ukambani in 2022.
He said the region has faith in Kalonzo's 2022 presidential bid.
The MP called on Ukambani politicians to remain united and rally behind the Wiper leader.
Nguna said time has come for the region to speak in one voice and push for its interests at the national level.
Kalonzo is eyeing the presidential seat in the 2022 presidential election.
A section of Kamba leaders endorsed the former Vice President's 2022 presidential bid last month.
Kalonzo, however, faces a rebellion in his home turf with a section of politicians opposing his bid.
He has hinted on rebranding his wiper party to One Kenya Movement (OKM).
This comes as 2022 succession politics intensify with politicians shelving their differences in unity push ahead of the much anticipated 2022 polls.
