Kihika said the claims that she spend Sh500 million on campaigns are being propagated by her envious rivals.
The senator hopeful states that her campaign budget was below Sh500 Million and that it was raised through fundraising and donation by well-wishers.
Speaking during an interview on NTV on Sunday, Kihika said that her rivals have been spreading malicious propaganda to malign her name.
“I want to make it clear that I did not spend Sh500 Million as being claimed, infact my campaign budget was not even close to that figure as it has been propagated in some sections of the media,” she said.
She also denied claims that her campaigns were funded by a ‘sponsor’.
She accused male politicians of running smear campaigns against female aspirants.
“We must fight all these stereotypes that are labeled against female aspirants for fairness in the electoral processes,” she added.
Kihika exuded confidence of wining the Nakuru senate in the August polls.
She pledged to push for laws and policies that will empower women, young people, Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWD) and other marginalized groups.
