Raila said the country is currently divided on tribal lines, a development he said threatens development.

The Cord leader spoke at a prayer session in Nairobi's Stephen's Church, Jogoo Road.

Raila surprisingly, was accompanied by Amani coalition leader Musalia Mudavadi in what could be seen as his attempt to reunite with the former Vice President and Sabatia MP.

"My idea of an ideal nation and leadership is in the Bible," he said during the prayer session televised live by a local TV station.

"It is inclusive, law abiding, trustworthy and devoid of corruption."

Other leaders who accompanied him were former Nairobi Mayor George Aladwa, former Makadara MP Reuben Ndolo , Dagorreti North MP Simba Arati, COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli, Kilifi Women Representative Aisha Juma and TNA Chairman Johnson Sakaja.

Raila and Mudavadi steered off the topic of reuniting after politicians present told them to work together ahead of 2017.
